On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Nicholas Mavrokordatos as the first Phanariote Hospodar of the Danubian Principalities – Prince of Moldavia, and then Prince of Wallachia, Jacques Bouchard will deliver a lecture on the Phanariots and early Enlightenment. The lecture entitled “Οι Φαναριώτες και ο πρώιμος Διαφωτισμός (1680 – 1780)” will be in Greek. A typewritten summary in English will be available.
Jacques Bouchard is Professor of Modern Greek Literature and Director of the Interuniversity Center for Neohellenic Studies of Montreal (Université de Montréal). He also holds the Phrixos B. Papachristidis Chair of Modern Greek and Greek-Canadian Studies at McGill University. He teaches the courses on modern Greek literature. His areas of specialization are: Greek Enlightenment, Greek Surrealism, Greek-Roumanian Relationship in the 18th century and Literary Translation.

Aikaterini Koumarianou will give a short introduction on “Ελληνορουμανικές Σχέσεις”.
Professor Koumarianou graduated from the Philosophy School of Athens University and did her postgraduate studies in Paris at the Ecole en Sciences Sociales. She was associate professor at the UNiversity of Paris-Sorbonne IV and director of the Modern Greek Institute at the same university (1973-1983). She was visiting professor at the Political Science department of Athens Law School and in the Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies department of University of Cyprus. She writes on the history of Greek letters and education as related to the history of ideas in Europe. She has published books, studies and articles on the Greek Enlightenment, focusing on the history of the Greek press, the history of publishing (15th-19th century), travel and the movement of ideas in the Greek world.
Ψηφιοποιημένα ελληνικά χειρόγραφα της British Library September 27, 2010
Posted by Νότης Τουφεξής in : χειρόγραφα , add a comment284 ελληνικά χειρόγραφα της Βρετανικής Βιβλιοθήκης ψηφιοποιήθηκαν με την οικονομική στήριξη του ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος. Τα χειρόγραφα χρονολούνται από τον 6ο έως τον 18ο αιώνα και προέρχονται από τις συλλογές «Additional» και «Harley». Περισσότερες πληροφορίες βρίσκονται εδώ, εδώ και εδώ.

Τα χειρόγραφα καταγράφονται με πολλούς διαφορετικούς τρόπους. Ένας πρώτος έλεγχος έδειξε μικρές ανακρίβειες, π.χ. ο Βιτζέντζος Κορνάρος είναι καταλογογραφημένος στον αλφαβητικό κατάλογο συγγραφέων στο V και όχι στο Κ.
Δύο χειρόγραφα της ψηφιοποιημένης συλλογής είναι σημαντικά και αξίζει να αναφερθούν χωριστά:
